Librarian

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Librarian to join our team at our library in Sharjah, UAE. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection of books, resources, and materials, as well as providing assistance to library patrons. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for literature and education.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection of books, resources, and materials
- Develop and implement library policies and procedures
- Catalogue new materials and maintain accurate records of all items in the library
- Assist patrons with locating resources and provide information on library services
- Plan and oversee library events and programs, such as book clubs or storytime sessions
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the library space
- Train and supervise support staff, such as shelvers or volunteers

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong knowledge of cataloguing systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus)

Preferred:
- Experience working with biometric passport systems
- Familiarity with Indian literature and culture
