Librarian for English Speaking Library in Sharjah, UAE

Our English speaking library in Sharjah, UAE is currently seeking a Librarian to join our team. This position is open to Africans, Malayalees, and other non-native English speakers with a strong command of the language. No prior experience in a library setting is required, but candidates must have a passion for books and learning.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the library, including circulation, cataloging, and reference services
- Develop and maintain the library's collection of books and other materials
- Assist patrons with finding and accessing resources
- Organize and lead events and programs to promote literacy and learning within the community
- Train and supervise library staff and volunteers
- Ensure the library is clean, organized, and welcoming for all patrons

Requirements:
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Knowledge of library systems and procedures (training will be provided)
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
