Coca Cola Indirect Tax Reporting Consultant (Property Tax Compliance)

Job Summary

A property tax consultant oversees the property taxes that a company is responsible for. This position acts as a subject matter expert on property tax returns on multi state level tax accounting and tax technology matters. The job holder will report to the Senior Tax Manager. We're interested in people who can manage multiple challenging tax engagements and contribute to the delivery of innovative tax reporting ideas. We'll look to you to develop strong relationships across a network of existing and future business partners focusing on providing insight and implementing operational efficiencies while demonstrating a solid understanding of our tax functions. We are also looking for someone who might have some experience related to container deposit compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  You will ensure the company remains compliant with tax laws and accountable to regulatory agencies.

  You will have responsibilities that include making sure tax accounts are reconciled audits are responded to and that best practices are followed.

  
  


• 
  

  You will record property assets and assist our compliance partners to file tax returns on monthly basis.

  
  


• 
  

  You will work closely with government property tax assessors to determine if the tax value of a property was assessed appropriately. To resolve disagreements in assessments you may assist tax manager in representing the company at tax hearings to provide evidence on the assessed value of the property in dispute.

  You will maintain financial reports records and general ledger accounts.

  
  


• 
  

  You will prepare journal entries analysis and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.

  
  


• 
  

  You will maintain documentation for accounts payable and vendor invoicing.

  You will perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and meet processing and reporting deadlines.

  
  


• 
  

  You will respond to information requests review financial statements and assist with audits.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensuring compliance with GAAP.

  
  


• 
  

  Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

  
  

Requirements

• 
  

  A bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years’ experience in Property Tax either with Big4 company or a fortune 500.

  
  


• 
  

  Some experience in container deposit compliance would be a plus.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong verbal and written communication and follow-up skills. Ability to communicate with the business and key stakeholders as well as external auditors & advisors regarding property tax matters.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced high-volume environment.

  
  


• 
  

  Problem-solving capacity ability to perform root cause analysis and process changes to ensure preventative actions for reoccurrence.
