Director, Distribution Operations
The Director Distribution Operations is the principal operations leader for distribution national sales executives (DNSE) by delivering superior supply chain operations and sustainability for NAOU’s broadline foodservice distributors within the eastern and western regions of North America (McLane Foodservice Cheney Bros Ben E Keith Sygma etc.). Responsibilities includes leading supply chain enhancements transportation implementation of product innovations and product tests and systemic solutions national supply chain issues. Critical to gain maintain and execute status of SME and trusted-advisor role to distributor’s category lead(s) and operation lead(s) regarding all supply chain operations across a wide array of beverage categories e.g. BIB Coca-Cola Freestyle juice coffee tea juice ARTM etc. Position is also responsible for the development of supply chain operational efficiencies for the foodservice distribution network testing/pilot new RTM programs and implementation new operations business strategies (e.g. national/regional product launch programs transportation optimization activating new order fulfillment processes etc.) as well as partnering with DNSE(s) to generate local market incremental revenue (OI) for foodservice/retail/franchise system which is integral to NAOU’s revenue growth strategies. Direct management responsibility for key supply chain distribution programs (e.g. CCFS distributor pick/pack program distributor managed freight distribution B2B contingency planning IMCR etc).
Responsibilities:
Subject matter expertise (distributor operations transportation optimization carrier performance product innovations & policy compliance) required to deliver consultative services to DNSE(s) and broadline foodservice distributors for all aspects of complex supply chain operations including warehousing efficiencies new product setup and activities special limited time offerings (LTO) ARTM franchise relationship and all distribution operational programs and initiatives.
Critical is the ability to leverage internal and external resources to support sustainability and excellence within distribution operations including DNSE(s) and supply chain operations distributor’s buyers distributor’s warehouse operation leads the Coca-Cola carrier network category SMEs Settlement and Finance Analysts FSOP sales teams and franchise leadership. Serves as principal operations leader for business reviews (along with DNSE(s)) with Distributors and Bottler Operations.
Serve as Functional expert and liaison between DNSE(s) and all NAOU supply chain operations and Customer Experience functions such as syrups plants third-party warehouses (3PW) billing/invoicing and QSE.
Represent NAOU and National Foodservice Distribution in a variety of distributor cross-functional activities and events to enhance KO value-based relationships. Examples include leadership roles for KO support at trade shows strategic planning general sales meetings community events conventions and local bottler events.
Required Qualifications:
Expert knowledge of supply chain operations packaging & service warehousing and knowledge of transportation business strong written and oral communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills (high degree of influencing and collaboration required)
Project management experience
Program management
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply judgment in independent decisions.
Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management finance logistics warehouse management (or equivalent work experience)
Related work experience: At least 5-10 years of relevant experience.
