Protection Officer for Non-English Speaking Communities in Al-Wakra, Qatar


Our organization is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Protection Officers in Al-Wakra, Qatar. As a Protection Officer, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to vulnerable non-English speaking communities, particularly those of Pakistani and African descent. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals without prior experience in the field to make a meaningful impact and gain valuable skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular outreach and engagement with non-English speaking communities in Al-Wakra, particularly those of Pakistani and African descent.
- Build trusting relationships with community members to better understand their needs and concerns.
- Identify protection risks and vulnerabilities within these communities and provide appropriate support and referrals.
- Conduct home visits to assess the living conditions of community members.
- Provide counseling and emotional support to individuals who have experienced trauma or abuse.
- Organize awareness-raising sessions on relevant topics such as child protection, gender-based violence, and human rights.
- Collaborate with local organizations and authorities to address protection issues affecting these communities.
- Document all cases, maintain accurate records, and submit regular reports on activities.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Pakistani or African nationality preferred.
- Residing in Al-Wakra or willing to relocate at your own expense (accommodation will be provided).
- Strong verbal communication skills in Urdu or any African language (depending on your background), as well as basic English proficiency.
- Empathetic, patient, and able to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends when needed.
- No prior experience required; however, experience working with vulnerable populations is an asset.
