Part-Time Librarian (Indian Nationals) in Dubai, UAE



We are seeking qualified and experienced Indian nationals to join our team as part-time librarians in Dubai, UAE. As a librarian, you will be responsible for managing our library collection, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and promoting library resources and services.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the library, including cataloging, shelving and organizing materials, and maintaining an accurate inventory of resources.
- Assist patrons with locating materials, using library databases for research, and providing guidance on proper citation formats.
- Promote library resources and services through outreach efforts such as creating displays, giving presentations, or hosting events.
- Monitor library budget and make recommendations for new purchases or resource subscriptions based on patron needs.
- Train new staff members on library procedures and systems.
- Collaborate with other departments or organizations to develop partnerships or programs that support the mission of the library.
- Stay updated on current trends in librarianship through professional development opportunities such as attending conferences or workshops.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a library setting.
- Familiarity with standard cataloging systems (such as MARC) and online databases commonly used in libraries (such as EBSCOhost).
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of patrons.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions:

This position is part-time (20 hours per week) without accommodation. However, we offer flexible working hours to accommodate your schedule. The salary will be commensurate with experience.
