Librarian (English Speaking)


We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Librarian to join our team in Sharjah, UAE. As a leading institution in the region, we are committed to providing our students with access to a wide range of resources and promoting a love for reading and learning.

As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing our library and ensuring an organized and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff. Your main duties will include cataloging books, maintaining library records, assisting with research inquiries, and promoting library resources to students.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the library including cataloging books, managing circulation records, and maintaining the physical space.
- Develop and maintain collections that meet the needs of our diverse student body.
- Assist students with research inquiries by teaching them how to use library resources effectively.
- Promote a love for reading by organizing book clubs, author visits, and other literary events.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate library resources into the curriculum.
- Train and supervise student workers to assist with daily tasks.
- Stay updated on current trends in librarianship and make recommendations for improving library services.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working as a librarian in an academic setting.
- Strong knowledge of cataloging systems such as MARC21 or AACR2.
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).
- Experience working with diverse student populations is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
