Librarian (English Speaking)
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced English-speaking Librarian to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing our library collection, providing reference services, and promoting library resources and services to our diverse community. This position is open to Indian and Egyptian nationals who are fluent in English and have a passion for books and information management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the library collection by selecting, ordering, cataloging, and classifying materials
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and help them locate materials using the library's online catalog
- Promote library resources and services through outreach programs, social media, and other communication channels
- Plan and conduct workshops or training sessions to educate patrons on information literacy skills
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate library resources into the curriculum
- Manage the circulation of materials by checking in/out items, collecting fines/fees, and maintaining accurate records
- Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in librarianship
Requirements:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science from an accredited university
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a librarian in an academic or public library setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Knowledge of current information technologies used in libraries
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work independently
