Librarian for English-speaking School in Musaffah, UAE



We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Librarian to join our dynamic team at an English-speaking school located in Musaffah, UAE. As a Librarian, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic needs of our diverse student population and ensuring the smooth operation of our school library.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the school library, including cataloging and classifying materials, and maintaining an organized and user-friendly system for students and faculty
- Assist students and faculty with research needs, including locating resources, providing guidance on research methods, and promoting information literacy skills
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive collection of print and digital resources that support the curriculum and interests of students
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into lesson plans and promote reading initiatives within the school community
- Plan and conduct library orientations for new students and provide ongoing support for student learning through library activities such as book clubs or author visits
- Stay updated on current trends in librarianship, educational technology, and information literacy to enhance library services
- Oversee the budget for library materials, maintaining accurate records of expenditures

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Librarian in an academic setting
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Malayalam is preferred but not required
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with students, faculty, parents, and vendors
- Knowledge of current technologies used in libraries for cataloging, circulation, and research purposes
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also functioning independently
