Speech Therapist - Al-Khor, Qatar
As a Speech Therapist, you will work with patients who have communication or swallowing disorders. Your primary responsibility will be to assess, diagnose, and treat these disorders to improve the overall quality of life for your patients. This position requires a high level of empathy, patience, and understanding as you will be working with individuals who may have difficulty communicating.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on the patient's specific needs and goals
- Implement treatment techniques such as articulation therapy, language intervention, and oral motor exercises
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and their families on strategies to improve communication skills at home
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients
- Keep detailed records of patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Valid license to practice as a Speech Therapist in Qatar
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Speech Therapist
- Experience working with diverse populations and cultural backgrounds is preferred
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic or Malayalam proficiency is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of speech disorders and therapeutic techniques
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Compassionate attitude towards patients with communication difficulties
