Accountant vacancy in Abu-Dhabi UAE

Senior Accountant

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of our company in Abu Dhabi, UAE. We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented individual with a strong accounting background to join our team. This position is open to individuals of any nationality, but preference will be given to Indian candidates who have experience in English-speaking environments.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management
- Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations regarding financial reporting and tax filings
- Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow projections as needed
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy
- Review and approve journal entries and adjustments made by junior accountants
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Provide guidance and support to junior accountants as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting/finance roles, preferably in the UAE or other English-speaking countries
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, laws, and regulations
- Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- Proficient in using accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks) and MS Excel
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus)
- Indian nationality preferred but not required
