Reference Librarian

We are hiring a Reference Librarian to join our library team in Bani Yas City, UAE. As a Reference Librarian, you will be responsible for providing reference and research assistance to library patrons. This role requires someone who is knowledgeable in various research methods and resources, has excellent communication skills, and is able to work independently.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons with finding and accessing information through various resources such as books, databases, and the internet
- Provide instruction on research techniques to help patrons effectively utilize library resources
- Develop and maintain collections of reference materials
- Stay updated on current trends and developments in research methods and resources
- Collaborate with other librarians to create instructional materials and programs for patrons
- Assist with collection development by recommending new materials for purchase
- Maintain accurate records of reference transactions and statistics

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Previous experience working as a Reference Librarian preferred
- Strong knowledge of research methods and resources
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently
- Familiarity with library cataloging systems
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Customer service oriented mindset
