Librarian - English Speaking (Indians Preferred)


We are seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team at a prestigious institution in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials, as well as providing guidance and support to library patrons.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain organized systems for cataloging, shelving, and circulating library materials
- Assist library patrons with locating materials and conducting research
- Promote the use of the library through educational programs and events
- Monitor the condition of library materials and make recommendations for replacements or repairs
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions and ensure proper collection of fines or fees
- Stay up-to-date on current trends in literature and information management
- Train staff members on library procedures and policies
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the integration of library resources into curriculum or research projects

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
- Experience working as a librarian or in a similar role preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Customer service-oriented with the ability to assist patrons from diverse backgrounds
- Familiarity with cataloging systems and database management software
