Junior Librarian



As a Junior Librarian at our library in Abu Dhabi, UAE, you will play a vital role in providing excellent service to our patrons and supporting the daily operations of the library. This is an excellent opportunity for an Indian candidate looking to start their career in the field of librarianship.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily circulation duties including checking materials in and out, shelving books, and collecting fines
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service to patrons, answering questions and assisting with locating materials
- Help maintain the organization and appearance of the library by re-shelving books and keeping shelves tidy
- Conduct basic reference interviews to determine patrons' information needs and recommend appropriate resources
- Assist with collection development by identifying popular topics and recommending new materials for purchase
- Support library programs and events, such as storytimes or book clubs, by helping with set-up, clean-up, and promotion
- Perform basic technology troubleshooting for patrons using library computers or printers

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred but not required
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages is a plus
- Must hold a valid biometric passport for travel purposes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent customer service skills
- Passion for books, reading, and lifelong learning
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
