Library Assistant

The library assistant will be responsible for assisting the librarian in managing the library's collection, providing reference services to patrons, and maintaining the library's organization and appearance. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for books and knowledge. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field and at least 2 years of experience in a library setting. Fluency in English is required, as well as knowledge of library systems and procedures. This position does not provide accommodation or visa sponsorship, so candidates must have their own valid visa to work in Sharjah, UAE. This is a part-time position with a salary of 1500$ per month.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the librarian with daily tasks such as cataloging, shelving, and processing new materials.
- Provide reference services to library patrons by helping them locate materials, answering questions, and providing research assistance.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the library by regularly shelving books and keeping shelves tidy.
- Assist with planning and implementing library programs and events.
- Keep accurate records of library transactions such as checkouts and returns.
- Monitor the condition of library materials and report any damages or missing items.
- Help enforce library rules and policies.
- Stay updated on new books, resources, and technologies relevant to the library's collection.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working in a library setting.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with library systems and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Passion for books, reading, learning, and helping others access information.
- Must have own valid visa for working in Sharjah, UAE.
