Livestock Specialist - Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Livestock Specialist to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a Livestock Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the health and well-being of our livestock, including cattle, sheep, goats, and poultry.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the health of livestock on a daily basis and take necessary actions to prevent the spread of diseases
- Administer vaccines and medications as needed to maintain the health of livestock
- Perform routine check-ups on animals to identify any health issues or injuries
- Manage breeding programs and ensure proper nutrition for reproductive animals
- Oversee the handling of newborns and monitor their growth and development
- Maintain accurate records of all livestock activities including births, deaths, vaccinations, and treatments
- Implement biosecurity measures to prevent contamination or disease outbreaks within the herd or flock
- Oversee the maintenance of animal housing facilities to ensure cleanliness and comfort for the animals
- Train and supervise other farm workers in proper animal care techniques
- Stay updated on industry developments and new technologies related to livestock management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience working with livestock in a farm setting
- Knowledge of animal health practices, including vaccination protocols and disease prevention strategies
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and welfare standards
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team
- Fluency in Urdu or Arabic is preferred but not required
