Reference Librarian

A reputable library in Dubai is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Reference Librarian to join our team. As a Reference Librarian, you will be responsible for providing reference and research services to library patrons, assisting with collection development and management, and promoting the library's resources and services.

Responsibilities:
- Provide reference and research assistance to library users in person, over the phone, or through email
- Conduct information literacy instruction sessions for individuals or groups
- Assist with collection development by selecting materials for purchase based on user needs and interests
- Manage the reference collection, ensuring that materials are organized and easily accessible
- Promote the library's resources and services through outreach activities such as workshops, social media posts, and displays
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop new programs and services for the community
- Stay current on trends in library science, technology, and information literacy to enhance service delivery
- Assist with cataloging and processing of new materials as needed

Requirements:
- Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a librarian, preferably in a reference or research role
- Knowledge of current trends in library science, technology, and information literacy instruction
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
