We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Library Assistant to join our team at our library in Sharjah, UAE. As a Library Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the organization and functionality of our library while providing excellent customer service to all patrons. This position is ideal for someone who is interested in pursuing a career in library services and has a passion for books and information.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily operations of the library including shelving books, organizing materials, and maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
- Provide excellent customer service to all patrons by answering questions, assisting with book recommendations, and helping locate materials.
- Process new materials including checking them in, cataloging them, and shelving them.
- Monitor library equipment such as computers and printers to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Assist with planning and implementing library programs and events.
- Keep accurate records of circulation statistics and assist with inventory management.
- Stay up-to-date on new books, trends in literature, and changes within the library system.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
- Prior experience working in a library setting is preferred but not required.
- Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical ability to lift at least 25 pounds.

Salary:
This position offers a salary of $1600 per month.
