Librarian - Al Shamkhah City (Pakistani/African candidates preferred)



A reputable library in Al Shamkhah City is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Librarian to join our team. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, providing reference services, and promoting literacy and reading throughout the community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain the library's collection of books, magazines, and other materials
- Catalogue new items and ensure accurate records of borrowed materials
- Provide assistance to library users in finding and accessing relevant resources
- Plan and implement programs to promote reading and literacy, such as book clubs or storytelling sessions
- Collaborate with local schools and organizations to develop partnerships and outreach initiatives
- Stay updated on current trends in literature, technology, and library services
- Train and supervise library assistants or volunteers as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a library setting
- Strong knowledge of library systems, cataloguing techniques, and reference resources
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations
- Passion for promoting reading and literacy within the community
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other languages is a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Salary:
Salary for this position is 1000$ per month. Please note that this does not include accommodation. Candidates must have their own accommodation arrangements.
