Librarian for a Multicultural Library in Sharjah, UAE


A multicultural library in Sharjah, UAE is seeking a dedicated and experienced Librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for literature and knowledge, along with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
- Manage library collections and maintain accurate records of all materials
- Assist patrons in finding and accessing resources
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and schools to promote the library's services
- Plan and coordinate events, workshops, and book clubs to engage the community
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new releases, and best practices in library management
- Train and supervise library staff, volunteers, and interns
- Ensure the library is clean, organized, and welcoming for all visitors
- Implement policies to ensure the safety of library materials and equipment

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a librarian or in a similar role
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus)
- Knowledge of cataloging systems and online databases
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of multicultural literature preferred
