Indian Librarian in Al-Khor, Qatar
Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a passion for books and knowledge? We are seeking an Indian Librarian to join our team at our library in Al-Khor, Qatar. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection of resources, assisting patrons with research and information needs, and maintaining the library's systems and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection of books, journals, periodicals, and other resources
- Develop and maintain a catalog system to organize and track resources
- Assist patrons with research needs by providing guidance on reference materials and utilizing online databases
- Respond to inquiries from patrons regarding library policies, services, and resources
- Plan and execute events such as book clubs, author talks, and workshops to promote reading and literacy
- Maintain the library's computer systems including circulation software and databases
- Train new staff members on library procedures and policies
- Oversee the maintenance of the library's physical space including shelving, displays, and seating areas
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of cataloging systems such as MARC or AACR2
- Familiarity with online databases such as ProQuest or EBSCOhost
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to assist patrons from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Salary:
This position offers a competitive salary of $1300 per month along with accommodation. Applicants must have a valid biometric passport.
