Librarian (English Speaking) in Bayan, Kuwait


We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Librarian to join our team at our library in Bayan, Kuwait. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and information needs, and promoting literacy and learning within the community. This position requires strong communication skills in English, as well as organizational abilities and a passion for books and education.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection of books, periodicals, audiovisual materials and other resources
- Assist patrons with research and information needs
- Promote literacy and learning through outreach programs and events
- Develop and maintain relationships with local schools and community organizations
- Organize book displays and exhibits to highlight new collections or themes
- Maintain accurate records of library materials, loans, and fines
- Train volunteers or part-time staff on library procedures
- Stay updated on new technology tools for libraries and implement them when needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Fluent English language skills (both written and verbal)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficient computer skills including knowledge of library databases and systems
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of current trends in literature, education, technology is preferred

Salary: 1800$ per month (negotiable based on experience)

Working Hours: Part-time (20 hours per week)
