Job Title: Library Assistant in Abu Dhabi
Our library in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Library Assistant to join our team. This role will support the daily operations of the library and provide excellent customer service to our patrons. The ideal candidate will have a passion for literature and be well-versed in library organization and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the circulation of library materials, including check-in, check-out, and shelving.
- Provide basic reference services to patrons, including locating materials and answering general questions.
- Process new materials for circulation, including cataloging and labeling.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the library, including shelving books and keeping shelves tidy.
- Assist with programming and events, such as author visits or book clubs.
- Monitor for any issues with technology equipment or facilities and report them to the appropriate staff member.
- Help train new volunteers or employees on library procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in library science is an asset.
- Previous experience working in a library setting preferred.
- Knowledge of library organization systems and procedures.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patrons of all ages and backgrounds.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Comfortable using technology, such as computers and scanners.
Salary: $1300 per month
Location: Abu Dhabi
