Librarian - Sharjah, UAE



We are seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team in Sharjah, UAE. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our collection of books and other materials, providing reference and research assistance to patrons, and promoting library services through outreach events.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain the library's collection by cataloging new materials, organizing shelves, and weeding out outdated or damaged items
- Assist patrons with locating materials, using library resources, and answering reference questions
- Plan and implement outreach events to promote library services to the community
- Manage library budget for purchasing new materials and supplies
- Train and supervise support staff in daily tasks such as shelving books and processing new materials
- Stay updated on current trends in library science and technology to continuously improve services
- Collaborate with other librarians or organizations to develop programs or initiatives for the community

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in using library databases, cataloging systems, and other technology resources
- Knowledge of current trends in library science and familiarity with diverse collections of books and other materials
- Strong communication skills to work with diverse groups of patrons, colleagues, and community members

Salary:
This position offers a competitive salary of 1200$ per month.
