Livestock Specialist
A livestock specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing the health and well-being of livestock animals on a farm or ranch. This role requires extensive knowledge of animal care, nutrition, and breeding techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the health and condition of livestock animals, including cattle, sheep, pigs, and poultry
- Provide routine medical care to sick or injured animals
- Administer vaccinations and medications as needed
- Maintain accurate records of animal health and production data
- Develop and implement herd management plans to optimize production and profitability
- Monitor feed consumption and adjust diets as necessary
- Oversee breeding programs to ensure successful reproduction and healthy offspring
- Identify potential health problems in animals and take appropriate actions to prevent disease outbreaks
- Train farm workers on proper animal handling techniques and safety protocols
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with livestock animals
- Strong knowledge of animal husbandry techniques, including breeding, nutrition, and disease prevention
- Ability to identify signs of illness or injury in animals
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Hindi or other Indian languages is a plus)
- Ability to work full time without accommodation in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
