Head Chef - African Cuisine
As the Head Chef for our African cuisine restaurant in Dubai, you will be responsible for creating and executing a menu that highlights the vibrant flavors and unique dishes of Africa. You will oversee a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards and that the kitchen runs smoothly. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced chef with a passion for African cuisine to showcase their skills and lead a team in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and update menu items, ensuring they reflect authentic African flavors and ingredients
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including portion control, plating presentation, and kitchen cleanliness
- Train, mentor, and manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff to maintain consistency in food quality
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain efficient operations
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and dining room
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene in the kitchen
- Develop creative specials based on seasonal ingredients or customer feedback
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a chef, preferably with a focus on African cuisine
- Strong knowledge of African cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles
- Proven track record of managing a team in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and multitask effectively
- Understanding of food cost control measures
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
Salary: $1100 per month (tax-free)
