Librarian vacancy in Doha Qatar

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team in Doha on a contract basis. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing our library's collection of books, journals, and other materials. You will assist patrons with finding resources, provide research assistance, and maintain the library's catalog and circulation system.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Customer service-oriented mindset
- Proficient in using library cataloging systems and databases
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members

Responsibilities:
- Acquire new materials for the library's collection through purchases or donations.
- Organize, catalog, and classify all materials using standard classification systems.
- Assist patrons with finding resources and provide research assistance.
- Maintain accurate records of all library materials including circulation records and overdue notices.
- Promote the use of the library by creating engaging displays and events.
- Keep track of budget expenditures for purchasing new materials.
- Collaborate with other librarians to plan programs and workshops for patrons.
- Stay updated on current trends in library services and technologies.

Salary:
This is a contract position offering a salary of $1200 per month.

Location:
This job is located in Doha. Preference will be given to Pakistani nationals.

English Language Requirement:
This position does not require proficiency in English as it primarily serves a non-native English speaking community. However, strong communication skills in Urdu are essential.
