The Reference Librarian will be responsible for providing research assistance and reference services to library patrons in a dynamic and diverse community in Muscat, Oman. This individual will also assist in collection development, coordinate outreach programs, and provide instruction and training to library users.

Responsibilities:
- Provide reference and research assistance to library patrons in person, over the phone, and via email
- Develop and maintain reference collections and resources
- Plan and coordinate outreach programs to promote library services
- Develop instructional materials and provide training to library users on research techniques and resources
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop and maintain specialized collections
- Assist with collection development by evaluating current collections and making recommendations for additions or removals
- Stay current with trends in information literacy, technology, and online resources
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills

Requirements:
- Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a librarian, preferably in a reference or research role
- Strong knowledge of information literacy principles, research methodologies, and reference resources
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues
- Willingness to adapt to the needs of a diverse community of library users
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is preferred but not required
- Willingness to relocate to Muscat if not already located there
Salary: $1800/month
