Part-Time Librarian in Manama, Bahrain

The American School of Bahrain is seeking a part-time librarian to join our dynamic team in Manama. As a renowned international school, we are committed to providing our students and faculty with access to a diverse and well-maintained library collection. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a librarian and will be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the library collection and ensure it aligns with the school's curriculum
- Assist students and faculty with research inquiries and provide instruction on library resources
- Organize and maintain the physical space of the library
- Evaluate and select new materials for the collection
- Create engaging displays and activities to promote literacy and a love for reading
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into lesson plans
- Train students in information literacy skills, including how to evaluate sources and cite properly

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Previous experience working as a librarian, preferably in an academic setting
- Strong knowledge of library systems, cataloging, and classification methods
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Familiarity with online databases, e-books, and other digital resources
- Flexibility to work part-time hours (approximately 20 hours per week)
