Reference Librarian

As a Reference Librarian, you will play a crucial role in providing access to information and resources for our library users. You will be responsible for assisting patrons with research inquiries, locating materials, and providing guidance on how to use library resources effectively. Your expertise in information retrieval and organization will be essential in maintaining an organized and up-to-date collection. This position requires strong customer service skills, as you will be interacting with a diverse community of library users. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a library setting, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others find the information they need.

Responsibilities:
- Provide reference services to library users, including assistance with research inquiries and locating materials
- Help patrons navigate the library's physical and digital collections
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date collection by shelving materials and ensuring proper organization of resources
- Develop and deliver information literacy instruction sessions for library users
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop policies and procedures related to reference services
- Stay informed on current trends in information retrieval and organization
- Assist with collection development by identifying gaps in the collection and making recommendations for new materials
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to patron inquiries in a timely, friendly, and professional manner

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Strong knowledge of information retrieval methods and resources
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others
- Knowledge of library cataloging systems is preferred but not required
- Proficiency in using computers and technology for research purposes

Salary: $1000 per month
