Head Pastry Chef
The head pastry chef will be responsible for overseeing the pastry department and ensuring the highest quality of pastries are consistently produced. They will be responsible for creating new and innovative pastry recipes and managing inventory and ordering supplies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastry making, as well as experience in managing a team. They must have excellent attention to detail, creativity, and time management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the pastry department, including production, inventory, and ordering supplies
- Develop new and unique pastry recipes to keep up with current trends
- Train and manage a team of pastry chefs to ensure consistency in quality and productivity
- Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation in the pastry kitchen
- Collaborate with other chefs to create cohesive menus
- Manage costs by monitoring inventory levels and controlling waste
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve the pastry menu
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a head pastry chef or similar role
- Strong knowledge of various pastry techniques, ingredients, equipment, and recipes
- Experience in managing inventory and ordering supplies
- Ability to lead a team effectively
- Excellent time management skills
- Creative mindset with an eye for detail
- Strong understanding of food safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Education/Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or Pastry Making preferred
- Certification in food safety/hygiene training is an asset
Salary: 1100$ per month
Location: Khasab, Oman (Preference for Omani or GCC nationality)
