Pastry Chef for a Luxury Hotel in Muscat, Oman


We are seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef to join our team at a luxury hotel in Muscat, Oman. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing high-quality desserts and pastries for our guests. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a luxury hotel or restaurant setting and possess strong leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:
- Designing and preparing a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods for the hotel's restaurant and catering events
- Ensuring all pastry items are made with high-quality ingredients and presented according to the hotel's standards
- Managing inventory levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining proper food cost control
- Training and supervising junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff
- Developing new menu items to keep up with current food trends and customer preferences
- Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the pastry kitchen area
- Collaborating with other kitchen departments to ensure smooth operations during busy periods

Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant
- Excellent knowledge of different pastry techniques, ingredients, equipment, and safety precautions
- Ability to create visually appealing desserts that also taste delicious
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team effectively
- Good communication skills to effectively liaise with other departments and suppliers
- Flexibility to work long hours, weekends, and public holidays as needed

Education:
A degree or diploma in culinary arts or pastry making is preferred but not required. Relevant certifications or courses in pastry making will also be considered.

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1600 per month. Other benefits such as accommodation, meals on duty, medical insurance, annual flight ticket allowance may also be provided.
