Librarian - Ar-Ruwais, Africa
We are currently in search of a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team at a library in Ar-Ruwais, Africa. As the Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and promoting library resources and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection by cataloging, shelving, and maintaining accurate records of all materials
- Assist patrons with research and reference inquiries by providing guidance on how to use library resources effectively
- Create engaging displays and programs to promote library resources and services
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to collaborate on programming opportunities
- Plan and lead educational workshops for students on information literacy skills
- Stay up-to-date on current trends in library science and incorporate new technologies into the library's operations
- Train and supervise volunteers or part-time staff as needed
- Oversee the maintenance of a clean, organized, and welcoming library environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a library setting
- Knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress classification
- Familiarity with online databases for research purposes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Salary: 1200$
