Pastry Chef - Nizwa, Oman
We are seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our team in Nizwa, Oman. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing innovative dessert and pastry menus for our restaurant. Your role will involve overseeing the entire pastry production process, from recipe development to plating and presentation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute creative dessert and pastry menus in line with the restaurant's concept and standards
- Create new recipes while also maintaining consistency of existing dishes
- Oversee the production of all pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods
- Train and supervise junior pastry cooks on proper techniques, recipes, and presentation
- Ensure high quality standards are met in terms of taste, appearance, portion size, and food safety
- Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients to maintain adequate supply levels
- Collaborate with the restaurant's Executive Chef to create a cohesive overall menu
- Monitor food costs to stay within budget guidelines
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of pastry techniques, methods, ingredients, and equipment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate junior staff members
- Creativity in developing new recipes while also adhering to established standards
- Attention to detail with a focus on taste, presentation, portion size, and food safety
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant setting
Salary: $1500 USD per month
