Librarian - Ar-Ruwais, UAE



We are hiring a Librarian to join our team in the beautiful city of Ar-Ruwais, located in the United Arab Emirates. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library's collection, assisting patrons with research needs, and promoting literacy and learning within our community.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an organized library collection, including cataloging materials and creating a user-friendly system for patrons
- Assist patrons with finding and accessing materials for research or personal use
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, recommending books or resources, and resolving any issues or concerns
- Plan and execute engaging events and programs to promote literacy and learning within the community
- Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum needs and provide guidance on incorporating library resources into lesson plans
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and implement new technologies or resources to enhance the library experience for patrons
- Manage circulation of materials, including checking items in/out, collecting fines/fees, and updating patron records as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain an accurate cataloging system
- Excellent communication skills to effectively assist patrons of all ages and backgrounds
- Knowledge of library software systems preferred
- Understanding of information literacy principles and experience providing research assistance preferred
