Librarian Assistant - Contract Position

Our library in Al Buraymi is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Librarian Assistant on a contract basis. This position is perfect for someone without prior experience in the industry, but with a passion for books and learning. As this is a contract position, it is suitable for both men and women who are looking to gain valuable experience in the field of librarianship.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in cataloging and organizing library materials
- Help with circulation tasks such as checking books in and out, issuing library cards, and collecting fines
- Provide excellent customer service to library patrons by helping them find materials and answering their questions
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the library space
- Assist with planning and executing library programs and events
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Librarian

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Fluent in English (Arabic language proficiency is a plus)
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Comfortable using computers, internet, and library software systems
- Must be physically able to lift heavy objects (up to 20 lbs) and stand for extended periods of time
