Librarian for a Contract Position in Ar-Ruwais, UAE

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and highly organized Librarian to join our team in Ar-Ruwais, UAE on a contract basis. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the library, including cataloging, circulation, collection development, and providing reference services to library patrons. This position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the library, including cataloging and organizing materials, maintaining circulation records, and shelving books
- Develop and maintain the library's collection by selecting new materials and weeding out outdated or damaged items
- Provide reference assistance to library patrons by helping them find resources and answering research questions
- Plan and promote programs and events to engage the community in library services
- Collaborate with other librarians and staff members to develop policies and procedures for the library
- Stay current on trends in library science and technology to continuously improve library services

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of current trends in library science and technology
