Librarian

As a Librarian in Doha, you will be responsible for organizing and managing the library's resources, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and promoting literacy and learning within the community. This is a contract position that requires previous experience in a library setting. The salary for this role is 1000$ per month and includes a free visa and ticket for non-Doha residents.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive collection of books, journals, and other resources
- Assist patrons with finding materials and conducting research
- Organize and classify materials using appropriate systems
- Create engaging displays to promote library resources
- Plan and facilitate literacy programs for children, teens, and adults
- Manage library budget and make strategic purchasing decisions
- Train volunteers or assistants in library procedures
- Maintain library technology, including computers and online databases
- Collaborate with other libraries or organizations to share resources or coordinate programs

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred but not required
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library
- Strong knowledge of library systems, cataloging, classification methods
- Excellent communication skills to assist patrons with research inquiries
- Passion for literacy and promoting lifelong learning
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with others
- Familiarity with current technology used in libraries
