Carpenter (Contract Position in Nizwa)


We are seeking a skilled Carpenter for a contract position in Nizwa. This is an ideal opportunity for women who are dedicated and passionate about carpentry. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard. They will also be responsible for measuring, cutting, and shaping materials according to specific project requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine project specifications
- Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using rulers, squares, or marking gauges
- Cut or shape materials to the desired size using hand tools or power tools
- Assemble and fasten materials together using nails, screws, adhesives or other methods
- Install structures such as windows, frames, floorings, trimmings etc.
- Repair or replace damaged parts of structures
- Ensure accuracy of work by double-checking measurements and ensuring all pieces fit together properly
- Follow all safety procedures while operating tools and equipment

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role
- Skilled in working with hand tools such as saws, hammers, chisels etc.
- Experience with power tools is preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and follow technical drawings
- Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination
- Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
- Understanding of safety procedures while working with machinery
- Fluent in English (knowledge of Arabic is preferred but not required)

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1000$ per month.

Contract Period:
This is a contract position with an initial duration of 6 months. Depending on performance there may be opportunities for extension.
