Job Title: Reference Librarian

The Reference Librarian will be responsible for providing reference and research assistance to library patrons in a timely and efficient manner. This individual will also assist with collection development, cataloging, and other administrative duties as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of library resources and search techniques, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons in locating and accessing library resources, both physical and digital
- Provide research assistance and instruction on the use of library databases
- Assist with collection development by identifying relevant materials for acquisition
- Catalog new materials according to established standards
- Maintain accurate records of circulation and inventory
- Keep up-to-date with current trends in library services and technologies
- Collaborate with other librarians to plan and implement programs and events
- Provide excellent customer service to all library patrons

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Strong knowledge of reference resources, search techniques, and online databases
- Familiarity with cataloging standards such as MARC21 or AACR2
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Customer service oriented with the ability to work well with diverse populations
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Must have a valid biometric passport for travel purposes

Location: Muharraq, Bahrain

Salary: $1100 per month (negotiable based on qualifications)

Hours: Full-time position (40 hours per week)
