Livestock Specialist
A reputable livestock farm in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Livestock Specialist to join our team. As a Livestock Specialist, you will be responsible for the overall management and well-being of our livestock, which includes cattle, sheep, goats, and poultry. You will also be involved in the planning and implementation of breeding programs, as well as managing the health and nutrition of our animals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal husbandry, with excellent knowledge of livestock behavior and welfare. This is a contract position with a salary of $1000 per month. Accommodation will not be provided, but we offer free visa and ticket for candidates outside of Abu Dhabi. Women are encouraged to apply for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily care and management of all livestock on the farm
- Develop and implement breeding programs to improve herd quality
- Monitor animal health and welfare, providing necessary treatments when needed
- Maintain accurate records of animal health, production data, and inventory
- Manage feed rations to ensure proper nutrition for all animals
- Assist with marketing and sales of livestock products
- Train and supervise farm workers in proper handling techniques
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in livestock management
- Strong knowledge of animal husbandry practices
- Excellent understanding of livestock behavior and welfare
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Fluent in English (knowledge of Malayalam or Arabic is an advantage)
- Physically fit to handle various tasks on the farm
