Female Librarian - Salalah, Oman

As a female librarian in Salalah, Oman, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection and resources, providing assistance to library patrons, and promoting literacy and learning within the community. Your main duties will include organizing, cataloging, and shelving books and other materials, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and planning and implementing educational programs and events.

To excel in this role, you should have a passion for books and a deep understanding of library systems and practices. You should also possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with diverse patrons. A degree in Library Science or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the library's collection including acquisition, cataloging, classification, and weeding.
- Assist patrons in finding information through reference interviews and online databases.
- Monitor library usage statistics to evaluate the effectiveness of services.
- Plan and execute educational programs such as book clubs, reading workshops, and literacy events.
- Maintain the physical organization of the library by shelving books and maintaining an orderly environment.
- Keep up-to-date with current literature trends to recommend new materials for purchase.
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop new policies and procedures for improved service delivery.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a library setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse patrons.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills including knowledge of library cataloging systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

This is a full-time position with a salary of $1300 per month without accommodation.
