Contract Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Contract Accountant to join our financial team in Salalah. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be responsible for managing all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank reconciliations and budgeting.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are properly recorded
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing and collections
- Calculate taxes owed and prepare tax returns on a timely basis
- Develop budgets and financial forecasts based on historical data and industry trends
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or opportunities for cost savings
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate recording of transactions and adherence to budgetary guidelines
- Assist with external audits as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
Salary: 1500$ per month. This is a contract position with the possibility of extension or permanent employment based on performance. Own visa candidates preferred.
