Executive Chef - African Cuisine
We are seeking an experienced and creative Executive Chef to lead our team in the kitchen and bring a taste of Africa to our restaurant in Al Ahmadi. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for creating and implementing new menus, managing inventory and budgets, and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement new menus that showcase the flavors and ingredients of African cuisine
- Train and manage kitchen staff, ensuring high levels of productivity and teamwork
- Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs within budget
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to established recipes, portion sizes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
- Oversee cleanliness of the kitchen area and ensure compliance with food safety regulations
- Collaborate with management to develop marketing strategies to promote the restaurant's African cuisine offerings
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and ingredients in order to continuously improve menu offerings
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of African cuisine including traditional dishes, cooking techniques, spices, and ingredients
- Ability to create innovative menus while adhering to budget constraints
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on management approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred
- Must be fluent in English
