Librarian - Ar Rumaythiyah, Pakistan


The Ar Rumaythiyah Public Library is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team. As the Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and reference needs, and promoting library services to the community. This is a contract position with a salary of 1500$ per month, and includes accommodation for non-local candidates.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the organization and maintenance of the library's collection, including cataloging, shelving, and weeding materials
- Assist and instruct patrons in locating materials and using library resources for research purposes
- Develop and implement programs and activities to promote the use of library services to all members of the community
- Stay up-to-date on current trends in library science and technology to enhance library services
- Manage circulation processes, including issuing library cards, checking out materials, and collecting fines/fees
- Collaborate with other librarians to plan events, displays, and other outreach initiatives

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Proficiency in English required; fluency in Urdu preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Familiarity with computer systems used for cataloging and circulation processes
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
