Instrument Technician
As an Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of instruments and equipment used in industrial settings. This includes troubleshooting and diagnosing issues, conducting routine maintenance and inspections, and ordering necessary parts and supplies. You will also be responsible for calibrating instruments to ensure accurate readings. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair various types of instruments such as pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, and level indicators
- Troubleshoot issues with instruments and make necessary repairs or adjustments
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on instruments to ensure proper functioning
- Calibrate instruments according to specifications to ensure accuracy of readings
- Order necessary parts and supplies for repairs or replacements
- Document all maintenance activities and keep accurate records of instrument performance
- Adhere to safety protocols at all times while working with hazardous materials or in potentially dangerous environments
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Instrument Technician in an industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, control systems, and instrumentation principles
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
- Proficiency with hand tools and electronic testing equipment
- Good problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical stamina for standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, etc.
