Reference Librarian


We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-oriented Reference Librarian to join our team in Ajman. As a Reference Librarian, you will be responsible for providing assistance to library users in finding information and resources, conducting research, and utilizing library services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide reference and research assistance to library users in person, over the phone, or through virtual communication methods
- Help users navigate the library's collection and online resources
- Conduct literature searches and assist with research projects
- Instruct users on how to use library equipment and resources effectively
- Develop and maintain subject-specific collections and reference materials
- Plan and conduct workshops or training sessions for library users on information literacy skills
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop programs and services that meet the needs of the community
- Stay current with trends in information resources, technologies, and services
- Assist with collection development by evaluating materials for acquisition

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a librarian, preferably in a reference role
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work well with diverse populations
- Knowledge of library systems and electronic databases
- Familiarity with information literacy concepts and practices
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment

Salary: AED 1200 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Working Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)
