Librarian - City Library, Khasab, Oman



The City Library in Khasab, Oman is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Librarian to join our team. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the library and providing excellent service to our patrons.

Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain library materials, including books, periodicals, and digital media
- Assist patrons with finding resources and conducting research
- Develop and implement library programs and events for all ages
- Manage library budget and make recommendations for purchasing new materials
- Train and supervise library staff members
- Ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in a library setting
- Knowledge of cataloging systems, digital resources, and information retrieval techniques
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic (preferred)
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to work well with diverse populations
- Familiarity with current trends in library services and technology

Additional Requirements:
- Must have accommodation within or near Khasab (preferably provided by employer)
- Biometric passport preferred
- Preference for male candidates due to cultural norms in Oman

Salary: The salary for this position is 1400 USD per month.
