Librarian in Doha, Qatar


We are seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team in Doha, Qatar. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library collection, assisting patrons with research and information requests, and maintaining the library's physical and digital resources.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection by cataloging, shelving, and organizing materials according to the Dewey Decimal System
- Assist patrons with reference and research requests, providing guidance on how to use library resources effectively
- Develop and maintain relationships with local schools, universities, and community organizations to promote the library's services
- Stay up-to-date on current trends in literature and technology to ensure the library's collection remains relevant
- Manage the library's budget and purchase new materials as needed
- Maintain the library's physical space by ensuring shelves are organized, books are in good condition, and equipment is functioning properly
- Oversee circulation services including checking materials in/out, issuing library cards, collecting fines/fees, etc.
- Train and supervise support staff or volunteers as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist diverse patrons
- Knowledge of current cataloging systems and research methods
- Proficiency in using computer systems for cataloging, database management, etc.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

This is a full-time position with a salary of $900 per month. The selected candidate must be fluent in English. This position does not include accommodation but may be suitable for Pakistani nationals or other English-speaking individuals looking for part-time work.
