Librarian vacancy in Muscat Oman

Reference Librarian

The Reference Librarian is responsible for providing research assistance and reference services to library patrons. This position requires strong knowledge of library resources, excellent customer service skills, and experience in conducting research. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Library Science or a related field, as well as prior experience working in a library setting. The Reference Librarian will work full time at our library in Muscat, and must have their own visa. This position does not include accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide reference and research assistance to library patrons
- Assist with collection management and maintenance
- Develop and conduct information literacy workshops for patrons
- Create user guides and tutorials for library resources
- Stay up-to-date with new developments in the field of librarianship
- Collaborate with other librarians to improve services and resources offered by the library

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficient in conducting research using various databases and resources
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Familiarity with current trends and technologies in librarianship

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1400$ per month.

Location:
This position is located in Muscat, Oman.

Working Hours:
This is a full-time job, with 40 hours per week.

Visa:
The candidate must have their own visa to work in Oman.
